I have an Ayurvedic formulation which I want to market as a product. I have tied up with an Ayurvedic manufacturer and he has told me I have two options. One is to get a loan license to manufacture the product in his premises. The other is to allow him to get the license and to market the product on a P2P (private labeling/contract manufacturing) basis. What would be the pros and cons of the two approaches?

1. The provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and the accompanying Rules Act/Rules provide for requisite license to be obtained for Ayurvedic Drugs and all type of cosmetics.
