I run a corporate house and recently our profit has been around INR 10 Cr. My company also runs a hospital. Can the amount spent on running the hospital be considered CSR? Also, we did not comply with CSR provision last year as we were not aware what to do. Is there any penalty for such non-compliance? Any help will be welcome

If the hospital that you are running is part of the business activity of your company, then it would not be considered as CSR activity. However, if some charity is done by this hospital, without any statutory obligation to do so, then it can be considered as CSR activity.
