We are a group of entrepreneurs based out of Bengaluru, with a plan to start an NGO. Regarding the same I have a couple of questions:
1. To register an NGO can major students be the council members to govern that functioning
2. Is it mandatory that accounts is to be maintained by auditor only or any of our members or a student doing or have done b.com/m.phil?
3. Is it necessary that it must be working always?
4.Can we have our own rules and regulations to proceed this organization?
5. Can the name our organization be of any format or is there any conditions if so what?
6. What do we mean by fund rising not the meaning but an explanation?
7. Can the office be a home a member, if not what could be the alternative? please help us as soon as possible?
Answers to your questions regarding running an NGO are as follows:
- Yes, anyone can start and manage an NGO, including students.
- If you register your NGO under the Companies Act, only a Chartered Accountant can be your Auditor. A member of your governing body cannot be your Auditor.
